Progress. I bought a parts truck for the straight long bed it had cause mine was pretty beat up from the PO getting rear ended. I pulled the bed off the doner a while ago and prepped and painted the underside. Then I pulled my damaged bed when a buyer came along. Been driving sans bed for a couple weeks, cleaned and painted the frame. Now I need a bed on my truck so I can do truck things with it. Its going on right now, I'm just taking a break and posting. A good time to take care of some bodywork. I enjoyed this look and got lots of thumbs ups A match made in heaven.
next to my doner Longed looks huge from this angle Rigging One man operation A better look at the actual rigging I still have a couple hours to go. Will post more pics when the bed is on
Progress is a wonderful thing I like the homemade dolly you created that definitely makes it much easier to maneuver and it turned a four person job into one maybe two.....

Two people would have been nice. Would have made it go quicker thats for sure. How she sits this morning. Needs a wash and put the trim on for now, till its time for paint.
congrats on the bed. really clever way you used the 4x's and eye bolts. Where there's a will, there's often a way
I learned that trick here Sal. Not sure who the member that posted it was but someone had a bed slung up with 4X4's. I don't know if he had eyebolts or not. EDIT; It was 37FORDGUY, and his post is in the link below. He only used one 4X4 but was working with a short bed.

Thanks mulegal, I ended putting my bent bed on another guys 66, after I removed his bed for him which I sold to another guy, installed. Swapping out beds has become old hat LoL.
Nice bed and nice work my bed is still off and in the middle of repairs, so I will be following. Heck it looks like you did or could have done the bed by yourself great work.

It can be done by one person but a second pair of eyes and hands makes it go a lot smoother, especially putting it back on and rolling it around. Take note in the pictures, I have the bedside trim off and have some additional 4x4's bolted inside the bed through the holes for the trim. This is to keep the big stringers from sliding to the center of the bed unbalancing everything and probably dropping the bed. Be careful.
Dan
I see them now; nice use of pressure blocking with the horizontal 4x4s for the pinch. We are having an unrelated summer party, and I am going to recruit the strong and the many. There will be a couple strong ones for sure. I figure a full size bed weighs about 300 maybe 400 pounds.
