i m sort of new here

hey, i ve been here several times looking for help/ i am 62 year old woman who loves ford trucks. i m having hard time figuring out how to post a question. I need some help here trying to figure if i can do what i am trying to do. i have a 97 F250 that i love. I seem to have blown my head gasket as my radiTOR CAP BLEW OFF A COUPLE TIMES. THE MOTOR WAS PUSHING 200,000 MILES. So, i guess its time for new motor, heres my question, i found a 1981 F350, with a400 motor in it, its also 4 wheel drive but is dually. can this motor be put into my truck, the 81 motor only has 27,000 miles on it. can this work. The only issue with 81 is spring bracket, which really irrelevant to me, i only want motor to put in mine. whats the chance this will work???
I m gonna thank you in advance for any insights to this, what would be biggest obsticle here, i obviously am no mechanic but have someone telling me this would work, but i d rather get the word from those that love and know the fork f trucks.

You need to scroll down to the 1997 F250 Forum and ask this question. This is the form for introduction to the FTE web site.

Kitkat58, it looks like you have the site figured out now.

Welcome to FTE. In the future, if you have a point to make, that is not related to the original post in a thread. please feel free to start your own thread. Often times, posts like this will get lost in someone else's story.
