Concerning a 1995 F350 4x4 dana 60.
I am about to replace the passenger side axle u-joint. I have noticed that along with the u-joint looking shot, it also looks like the bearing in the diff housing may be toast. It looks like the axle sits off center in the housing. I have not yet taken anything apart. Is this a common replaced item?
Also when removing the axle, do I have to remove the steering knuckle from the diff housing? It looks to me like I will have to, but I do not enjoy working on ball joints! And I believe there are 3 seals to be replaced when doing this job. 1-wheel seal, 1-diff seal, 1-knuckle seal.
Anyone have any tips or articles on this repair procedure? This will be my first time going this far into a front end.
I'm thinking bout it on my DANA 44 up front. May end up going to the dealer though. I have all the ball joints, seals and tools but, yuk, what a job!!!!!
