I have a "FORD" CB that I relieved from a mid 70s Merc. that was parted out. It has all the controls on the mike and a big cable runs to under the package tray where the actual radio box was. The car had burnt and I had to cut the cable to get things out. Well, after splicing everything together it comes on and recieves but I can't transmit. In other words I have something wrong.
Anyone seen a schematic for these things? I don't think it would be covered in the truck manual in detail. It would be nice to get it working for my truck. It even says FORD on the mike.
I have seen one of those before! I thought they had all been destroyed...
The best place I can think of that might be able to help is Speedometer Service. They work on all of Ford's warranty repair for the East coast, and have some very intelligent guys working there. Even if they didn't have paperwork on it, I bet they could fix it...
it is probably made by someone other than ford, you should try and find out who made it for them, then contact that company or check their website for info, does anyone know if i am way off on this?
You are right. Ford does not make their own units. I know Sony and Clarion have made their headunits and changers for their vehicles (don't know who does now). I very seriously doubt you are going to find any paperwork on the unit. CB's are not that technical, so you might be able to find a good CB shop and let them look at it also.
