Stiff Hydraulic Clutch Problems

Just got a new hydraulic clutch master cylinder, line, and slave cylinder for a T18.
Bench bled it and installed it, then clipped the plastic retainer off the slave and went up to test it.
Pedal went down like 2 inches max so I crawled under the truck and the slave push rod is extended and pressed all the way out on the clutch fork.

What did I do wrong?

Well in watching a few videos online I determined that I installed the throw out bearing in backwards. I'm not sure if that is contributing to the slave cylinder being stuck in the out position or not but I'll need to start there first and report back.
Because taking the transmission back out is not fun.

I would not have guessed that. You didn't say in your first post that you had the transmission out and had changed other pieces as well.

I don't think the throw out bearing has anything to do with why the clutch was super stiff. Just wanted to let people know if they offered suggestions, I wouldn't have a quick answer as to whether or not they worked.
Why would a new clutch be so stiff the pedal wouldn't go to the floor?

Can you take the boot out and check if the bearing is the right way. The groove where the fork slides in goes towards the back of the truck, the bearing side towards the front.

Is the fork clipped in correctly?

Is the fork in the proper groove of the bearing or behind the bearing?

Recently installed a slave on my T19. With the plastic keeper on it fit in the fork lever slightly tighter than the keeper held the slave rod. I could have unhooked the keeper if I had needle nose pliers in my hand. But since I'm already under there with dykes I snipped mine. So if yours had to expand out to make the bearing point something is not correct I suspect.

I would suspect the arm was at the wrong angle and you were not getting the proper leverage. You flipped the bearing around and everything is ok now?
