Replace box difficulty
I have an 88 f150 that has a serious rust problem on the wheel wells, tailgate and outside of the box. Instead of trying to repair all the rust I am thinking of trying to replace the box with one in better shape. How tough is this and do you think it's a good idea? I'm not sure what I have to remove to get the box off.

I've changed the box on an 83 Mazda pickup, it was a piece of cake - nothing complicated at all. I think the worst part was trying to get the spare tire out. Spray lots of WD-40 or whatever (I use Moovit) on the bolts for a week or 2 in advance and things should come apart ok.
I don't think a full size box would be that much more difficult, other than needing more people to help lift it off. (I think 2 was enough for the Mazda)
