So in removing the rear spring u-bolts on my 66 F-100 2wd I bent the end of one side (unless this is how they are supposed to be?), and I cannot find replacements anywhere. Anyone know where I can get these or if another year u-bolt will fit? LCM has 1966 for a F-250, but they told me they are different and would not fit.
See if you have a spring suspension shop in your area. They could make a set of u-bolts right there. In Phoenix we have Dunbar Spring, they made me a set of u-bolts for a Mustang in about 20 minutes.
Napa has them in every size and flavor. Never reuse a U-bolt as the nut crushes the thread when torqued, rendering them one and done.
Thanks - I didn't know that! Is that the same for the shackle bolts also? Those came off relatively easily in good condition and I was planning to reuse them....
If you have a store around, O'reilly's carries a bunch of length and thickness u-bolts for around 10-12 bucks each including nuts and washers. That's where I got mine from.
