I put 285x70x17 on my 99 F250 4x4 7.3 used 2 in spacer. For quick use. I want to buy new rims to run 17 inch tires without spacers don’t trust spacers what will offset be or right measurement. Thanks guys

You'll want a wheel with less backspacing. Assume the factory is ~4.5", you should be looking for a wheel with around 3.00-3.50", which may be difficult, the lower the number, the further they will stick out. Likewise, offset is just a different way of measuring the wheel to mounting surface from the centerline. You'll want negative offset, at least -24mm. That is the issue with the leaf sprung trucks to clear the springs at tight turns.

For what its worth, I have used high quality 2.00" wheel adapters (spacers) without issues. Ensure they are high quality and use proper torque and blue threadlocker on them.

i have a 99, and have run the 285s on factory wheels for years without a single rub. no spacers needed unless youre by chance running later model wheels on it. what gives?
