Temp Gauge

I seem to have a problem with my Temp Gauge. Sometimes it works and sometimes it stays pegged at the bottom. Any suggestion?

First, make sure that your cooling system is full. The gauge doesn't work well when it's in an air bubble.

Second, look at the sending unit to be sure that the connection is good. If you stand at the front of the truck and look at the thermostat housing (where the top radiator hose connects to the engine), the sending unit for the guage is just behind it to the right (driver's side) with a single wire.

The sending unit itself is probably only a few bucks if you have to replace it. Be sure you get the one for the gauge, not the one for the computer. It's possible that the gauge itself has a problem, but I can't offer much help there.
