Question Cranks?

Why does my truck take about 4 cranks to start now, when it used to take 1-2? Does anyone else notice that, as the engine ages it takes a few more turns until it starts?

Sounds like tune-up time.

On mine with the propane carburetor, the idle screw seems to be loose and turns by itself to the lean side so every couple weeks I have to turn it back out.

Each engine is a little different. My EFI 460 motor starts when you shake the keys at it. It has started this way when it was using a a quart of oil every 60 miles and it sarts this way after a total rebuilted. My EFI 302 takes about 6 revs to fire off. Who Knows.

Talking

My old 302 was just the opposite, it started less than one crank every time, over 100K miles too.
I keep the 460 up to date on tuneups, I just don't know why it takes a few more cranks now. Maybe I really never noticed the gradual change till now, just something I was thinkin about.
