Just bought a '94 F250 w/ 162K miles, the first fix that has me scratching my head is the blinking ABS light on the cluster and this very loud beeping. I don't know if the two are related. I've driven it about 15-20 minutes and braking felt fine, fluid doesn't appear to be low.
I appreciate any help or suggestions with this matter, I'm new here so can't do private messaging yet.
Thanks all!
Count how many times it blinks. I had this happen in my 95 once and it turned out that the brake light fuse was blown and the flashing ABS light was a warning that you have no brake lights. I don't remember the count for it but it's worth checking.
Hello fellows! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Just wanted to give an update - I checked all fuses, replaced bad ones, and there is no more flashing ABS light on the cluster. It felt great to fix the first problem and I greatly appreciate the help!!
There is still the loud beeping issue - loud beeps, doesn't seem to be of any consistency, sometimes will beep 4 times then stop for a minute or so but other times will beep 5 or 6 times then stop for a minute or so. There are some lights on the cluster that don't illuminate (so far I've confirmed the right-turn blinker arrow and hazards blinking arrows), and the oil pressure gauge is not functioning (the needle doesn't move). I've changed the oil, checked the dipstick afterwards and volume checks out, there's no oil leaks that I've found yet.
Your oil pressure gauge is probably the oil pressure sensor, Mine is located behind the upper intake. You just pull the connection off and unscrew the old sensor and replace it. The dash gauge is basically an idiot light and just shows you have pressure of some kind. Some replace the sensor with a sending unit that you connect to a real pressure gauge you install yourself in the truck. I just use the gauge in the truck as I check my oil on a very regular basis.
