Just wanted to use my up-fitter switches, seemed like an easy install. I ended up drawing up and 3d printing some stick on brackets for attaching the lights with some 3m tape. No holes to drill, but did have to cut out that center fin in the grill to get the center light, well, centered. 3d printed bracket Light and 3m tape added installed
Click bait. I came expecting to see some creative grill lights and instead only see pics of grille lights. Too bad.
Nice custom brackets. Looks like a nice job.
Since Toyota also started doing the amber grille lights, I would recommend going with round/dot shaped lights. Toyota standardized on the 4 x rectangle (sometimes 3 x rectangle) to contrast against Ford's standard 3 x round/dot lights. When people start putting >3 lights in that top row or using rectangular lights, I think it loses that distinct Ford look and begins looking like Toyota. It's all preference, though, as these lights serve no purpose other than cosmetics.
@67L48 I'm going to somewhat agree with you; somewhat due to my lack of knowledge/experience. I saw a Toyota rolling and rocking the three amber lights just yesterday and was a bit crest fallen for my dreams of Raptor lights on my Super Duty. Maybe four round dots; IDK. Have to give this some more thoughts - and thanks for your post.
good looking light pattern please post the info on the lights and how you installed them as i want to do this to my rig
I wired them all to an upfitter switch and just leave the switch on, so they come on when I turn the key. I found flat spots within the grill and the bottom air dam and taped the thin LED lights on with double sided 3M tape used for auto molding. I also positioned them so they were somewhat inconspicuous during the day. Everything came from Amazon. The lights are really cheep and I've had them on for over two years and work perfect. Search amazon for " 3.8" 6 LED Amber Side Led Marker" a bunch of different companies sell them.
