I traded one of my super duty’s for a 79 f150 4x4, 460 with fender well exit headers, 4 in lift on miss matched 35’s and ugly 15 in wheels. I want to put some new wheels and tires on the truck. I’m discovering that the 5 on 5.5 wheels aren’t so available anymore, especially with a negative offset which I need to help keep the tires from hitting the headers during turning.
I’m thinking I want to run a 18 inch wheel with a 35 inch nitto ridge grappler. Best I’ve found in wheels is a -12 offset, which will hit the headers more than it does now. I’m thinking of running two inch wheel spacers so I can run a 0 or 1 offset wheel(lot more choices). Anyone have experience with fender well exit headers and wheel offsets?
You can get on Summit Racing, Jegs, 4WP and order whatever rim you want in whatever pattern you need in 5 on 5.5. That Ford 1/2 ton pattern is very common.
