Why doesn't my posts have a like thumb on them? Am I in some kind of time out or something?
I can’t speak for John, but I think you can’t see the like button on your own post because they don’t want people liking their own comments.
The button is there on your post. I’ll give you a like, heck they don’t cost much.

You have a Like Icon in the lower right of the page beside Quick Reply and as mentioned, you cannot like, your own post. Then after you Like, you can unlike........ The Cool Kids thought this was way better, like a 1st Grader getting a participation Trophy.
