Late last year a truck driver friend of mine caught the crap and declined quickly. He was gone in a week. He was a big Ford guy. I had done a bunch of work on his '77 F-150 several years ago, as well as a Trick Flow top end on his '89, helped him pick up a '77 crew cab, and pieced together a carb for his '79. His family contacted me for some help getting the crew running again so the estate could sell it. While doing so I mentioned I would be interested in buying his '79. We had many conversations over the years over what he wanted me to do to it, planning this or that, going back and forth over options, ect. He wanted me to start on it this spring. We worked a deal and I was able to bring home. The 3/4 tank of 3 or 4 year old gas prevented me from driving it home, but we drug it down from his parents place a couple weeks ago. He had purchased the pickup in part to haul his Newfoundland dog to his preferred groomer an hour or so away in the Boise area. That dogs name was Brutus so it seemed a natural fit. My current '79 F-350 Camper Special will be going on an auction shortly. So I introduce Brutus, the 1979 F-350 Custom 2wd dually flatbed.
