I read just about every post searching this sight to try to come up with a # as to how many of these things were built. Learned alot but found no answer. I called the same # I used to get my build sheet and asked Ford. After the girl searched for about 5-10 minutes she came back and said in 1979 the total production #'s of an F-350 4x4 Supercab were 1761. Anyone know if this is anywhere near correct. I tried to get her to mail me a letter with that in writing but she said they were not allowed to do that. Seems like a pretty rare truck!

Old thread I know, but since numbers on these are so hard to find I figured I'd try to contribute. I just bought one today that is number 0546 and mine was born in June of 1979 and since New models come out in What ? July August.I doubt they even made 800 since only 546 where made up to June I doubt Ford almost doubled output in the final 2 months of the run.

I got one myself, black and silver two-tone, spent most of it's life in Southern Cali. Still has the typical bubbles around the gutters, but not too bad. The frame and underside are great, though, it even has the original tannish gray paint on the floor boards from the factory. It's the Lariat package also with A/c and even has a lighted vanity mirror to boot! I always thought it was a rare truck but if ford's number is right or even the 800 is more accurate, 78supercab and I better take care of these buffalo 'cause dey be rare...
