!976 F150 300

I have a 1976 F150 300, That I have to let warm up for 5 mins be for I can move it. If not it will stumble all over it shelf. What could that?

Sounds like your choke isn’t set up right.

Make sure that the electrical wire form the alternator is hooked up, and that the hot air tube from the manifold is connected at both ends. Other than that, I suspect that if the larger hot air tube from the manifold to the air filter snorkel is off, that that will negatively impact warm-up as well.

Just piggybacking on this with a topical question. My thermostatic intake never seems to open, so it's always sucking air from the snorkel's air duct. The stove around the manifold is rusted so I'm not sure if it's just not getting hot enough air or do these things malfunction?

No running issues. It's ready to go from the first crank.

Ah yeah, that's true of 300s. Mine is a 240 which is a destroked 300, and it takes a long time to warm up.

My vote is the carb needs some better tuning.

Everything might be hooked up all right... but, if the tuning is bad then hooked up means nothing.

I would say.... too much fuel / not enough air in the carb ratio.
