Front Grille

I'm just wondering if the Super Duty Grille's will fit in the Excursion? I have a 2000 & I just got a new grill that clamps onto the Super Duty Grille & not the Excursion. If it does which one would fit the 250 or 350? Thanks

Instead of changing the base Ford grille, why not get the aftermarket grille that fits the Excursion? I bought mine off eBay, and it took less than an hour to install it on my X.

BTW, Superduty grilles are interchangeable between the X, F250, and F350. I know because I offered my eggcrate grille to a buddy with an F350 before I installed the aftermarket grille. We swapped them out in 5 minutes ... popped right in & screwed right down. He decided against the eggcrate though because he wanted to get some grille inserts that only fit the truck-style grille. And it sounds like your aftermarket grille only does that, too ... only fits the truck-style grille that is.

I would return or sell the aftermarket grille you have & just get one that fits the X. The biggest difference between the X & F-series grilles is the X's eggcrate grille sections are removeable, whereas I would've had to take a small cutting wheel to an F-series grille (it's a one-piece plastic molding) to install the aftermarket grille I purchased.

Good luck with whichever route you take.

Yea I purchased the Putco Racer Style Grille & the hardware looks like it will only fit the 250/350 Truck grille's. Thanks

Anybody have any pics of their custom Grille. I just ordered the Tribal and would like to know how it looks in comparison to other grilles out there.

I tried to do a search, but it looks like that fucntion is not working for all members...thx.

I removed the stock chrome grill and ordered the white painted grill.

Looks great

still cannot find an insert that catches my fancy

PUTCO Grille

I installed some custom chrome grille (inserts) from PUTCO on my '03 Ex.

I made the dealer throw in the center grille, but I decided to also order the side vent inserts and the bumper insert.

A word of caution: The side vent inserts are extremely difficult to find and are apparently made by order. It took PUTCO about 3 month to have them shipped and available. But I think it was very well worth the time waiting.

When ordering the the side vent inserts, make sure you order the right product # and mention that it is for an Excursion. The side vent inserts for the Ex are apparently NOT interchangeable with the F-250/350 inserts. (won't fit!)

Overall I am very happy with the looks of the tubular chrome grille on my (otherwise) totally black Ex...

Just thought I would let you know...
