I picked up my 2021 f250 tremor yesterday. Coming from a 2017 350. I can’t figure out if I have a problem with my sync 3 system, if it sucks or if I am an idiot.
my previous system had presets for each bank of the radio, am,fm, xm. I had 2-3 banks of 6 presets for each of them.
the new system has apparently 12 presets for all 3 banks, but what’s more bizarre, is they don’t stay set. If I set number 3 on the panel to say xm 25, then tune to a few other stations, xm 25 disappears and my most recent stations show on the screen.
How are the new sync 3 presets supposed to work, and do the hard buttons correspond to the touch screen or not. Last truck had a sync manual, this one is vague at best.
thanks

i have a 2020 and the12 (or maybe more) presets are for everything. You can have an FM then an AM, then a XM. I dislike it….
So if you only get 12 presets total, which 6 are on the hard buttons? Or is that 6 additional? If I set my touch screen presets, they change themselves as I use different stations. Almost like they are a most recent vs a preset. Seems messed up to me
21 f250..xlt. After having lots of issues with the screen and them changing a bunch of parts and changing the whole screen, when I got it back I reset all my personal settings on the radio and screen. For a few days my sirius station presets would not show correctly. Example, my first preset is prime country and it's playing the right station but its labeled pop2k. Even after setting the station correctly. After a few days it seems to work itself out and stay on the correct station with the right label.
My 2020 does the same thing, has since it was new.
it feels like the buttons aren’t really the presets, they are linked to the order of the 6 stations that are on the screen, so if you have more than 6 presets if you listening further down the list then preset button 1 will actually be your 3rd preset, etc. something like that.

I’ve experienced this behavior on my ‘20. What version of sync are you running? I’m now on 3.4.21020 and have had this happen several times over the last couple weeks. Every time it happens a soft reset returns to normal functionality. I don’t remember this behavior as bad on 3.4.20351 and am considering downgrading to verify, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
You can add up to 5 sets of presets if I remember correctly comes with 3 . I too had issues with them moving around but turning the truck off and on again seemed to fix the issue.
