Sooo........
Ok guys, most of you have tour trucks. My question is....
is it really the best truck ever? Is it better than the new Nissan? If so, why? And... I thought the F-150 had the most interior room... but I read an article that said the new Nissan had the most. replys would be appreciated!!!

Trying to be as impartial as a Ford salesman can......
1) The Titan is probably the first real import to really challenge the domestic trucks. The Tundra is (and probably always will be) an also-ran. The biggest question I have with the Titan is with it's 32-valve engine. Does it develop it's torque at a low enough RPM? I mean, what good is torque if it doesn't kick in until 3000 RPM? And do you really have to get into it before you get to the useful horsepower? Only an extended test drive of both trucks on your part can answer that question.
2) Do not believe what ANYONE says about interior room and dimensions. This includes the stats that manufacturers publish. These can be (and regularly are) twisted and manipulated to fit whatever anyone wants them to be. YOU have to judge which has the most room, and the most USEABLE room. The most hip and shoulder room means absolutely nothing in a full-size truck, unless you regularly carry 3 people per bench seat. Judge for yourself when it comes to room, and forget all the other nonsense. How do you judge useable room? Well, how do you use the truck? Always carry a toolbox and a set of golf clubs? Then take those with you to the dealer when you take it for a test drive. I once had a couple want to return the car they bought after they took it home and found out the twin's stroller wouldn't fit in the trunk. This is my fault? Did it ever occur to them to BRING THE STROLLER WITH THEM when they test-drove the car? Think about it.....

1,600 miles says YEP!
It is, it is. I cannot believe how much different it feels. My first Ford was a '94 F150 SCab 5.0l. It rode and drove like a really good truck. I enjoyed it a lot. This new truck does not feel like a truck ride, but the steering is so precise, the suspension is so much improved (the bed does not bounce and jump a couple of inches to the side when you run over a small hole in the road.
The kid does not object when 3 or 4 of us are going somewhere and has to sit in the back seat.
Today, after 6 weeks, I am enjoying every trip.

took delivery today .
screw fx4
smiled all the way home. i don't know if it is as quiet as they say because i had RATT cranked on the audiofile stereo with 90watt subwoofer the whole way home. i was giggling to myself(jeesh, i'm a 36yr old grown man) . it rocked
i'm impressed with the upgrades from my 01 screw.
9 times stiffer frame, fully boxed including cross members
rack and pinion steering
long travel coil over front (because there is no frame compliance)
outboard shocks on rear to basically eliminate body roll in an avoidance maneuver
300 hp engine
better gas mileage (like it really matters 14 vs 13 in the city
taller box for more volume
larger brake rotors and calipers
more leg room in rear seats
awesome interior
9600 lbs towing capcity for a 1/2 ton 4x4 !!!!!
9900 for 2x4
i'm sold

Titan is Serious Competition
Titan is the first serious competition to both Ford and Chev. I say that NOT liking Nissans. I love Toyotas, but the Tundra in its current "form" sucks!
If the Titan "LOOKED" like the Ford I would go buy it today. There are a ton of pluses about the Titan; but, still a person can only take so much "Ugly"
Finally, after decades of the same o same o. The five truck makers are starting to get real serious. The real Tundra is to be here fall of 2006, and I believe GM will finally bring their engines and frames out of the 1950's about the same time.
Real competition at last. And its all good for us!
