I have a 17 5.0 60k. At 2300-2500RPM I hear a flutter/rattling noise. The noise can’t be replicated in neutral at same RPM range so only in drive. The noise isn’t terribly loud (can be drowned out by average radio volume). It is most noticeable in 1st gear and disappears after 3rd.
Has anyone experienced, or heard of anything like this?
No thrown codes, no loose exhaust heat shields.
My thoughts are possibly timing chain but the sound isn’t a knock and in my opinion, not really a metallic sound either.
I'm thinking if not a normal sound then something is either loose or worn in that system. If you still have power train warranty the dealer should look after you.
