Ok, so I recently bought a 2019 XLT, it was obvious that the wheels were swapped bc the door decal states 18” wheels while the truck has 20” Ford factory wheels. During test drive all was great but once I got a good way away from the dealer the tpms stopped working. Didn’t think anything of it decided I’ll reset it when I get home, as I bought the truck in Dallas and live in Louisiana. Well that didn’t work could never get the truck to resync. Decided I’d take it to another dealer and try to find out the issue. Before I was able to get it in I had a tire blow on my way home from work. I decided to cut the tire open and found no sensor inside the tire. So I’m looking at sensors online and have decided to order from tasca parts, but I’m also seeing the sensors and tpms receiver, is the receiver something I would need to order as well or just the tire sensors? Never had
this issue before and not really wanting to pay the dealer 150 just to diagnose then another 500 or so for parts and labor
2 of my 6 stopped registering. Go to Discount Tire, pay them to check it. Probably won't cost you nearly as much to have them rescan them...there is a procedure and a tool. Stay away from the stealership.
Are you sure you are not looking at the trailer TPMS kit. It comes with TPMS and a Receiver to monitor your trailer tires.
I agree with Greg above. Stop in your local tire store and have them install some new TPMS and set them up. You have to dismount and remount the tires to install the sensors. So you will be in the tire store anyway.
