Tailgate Step Stuck

Pushed the button in to get my step out and it stuck in there hut the step will not come out. Tried removing the panel on the tailgate but can't get to the step parts, just the tailgate latch. Any suggestions?

Welcome to FTE,

Try removing the access panel on the tailgate and see if you can get some spray lube on the sliding tracks and the inside of the release button.
