Recently got a 1997 7.3 f350 powerstroke with a E4od,the transmission has been going out on it for a while now but I ran it till it got to the point of needing one so I found one a few hours away from my house that I picked up. I was told it was out of an powerstroke till I got it home and seen it in the day light then I relized it had a 4 bolt converter on it so I changed out the converter to a 6 bolt and it went back into the truck also changed out the shift pack on it. From day one it’s gave me issues and I’m stumped now, it shifts from first to 2nd with a bad delay then a slam and from 2 what’s supposed to be 3rd you have to let off of it but it jumps from 2nd to lock up back down to 3rd and sometimes 4th you can kick it in and out of overdrive like normal for a little while(5-6 minutes) then it won’t go to overdrive pulled the pan and there is no chunks of metal in it just clutch pack metal I’m completely stumped on this and was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem or put an idi trans in a powerstroke before sorry in advanced for sounding like an idiot lol
