All I know is that the voltage was always steady until I changed the battery. Nothing was wrong with the old battery but since I was able to get a new one for $50 and the old one was 3 years old I figured it was a good investment. Then I sold the used battery for $30 so I only had $20 out of pocket. I also notice that when I get in the truck after it sits overnight that the voltage is 12.6v before I start it. The old battery would go down to 12.1v overnight. I recharged the old battery before I sold it and even after sitting for a week it still showed 12.5 v. I assume something was draining the battery but after disconnecting the BMS it doesn't happen now.
Maybe Ford stopped installing voltmeters to keep you from seeing what's really going on. A lot of people would probably go back to the dealer only to be told " that's normal, don't worry about it"

the BMS shuts down the alternator from time to time as it sees fit... That it what you are seeing with your volt meter when it drops from 14.0 to 12.5 volts when running........... The BMS LOGIC is the problem... Disconnect it is the answer.
