I have a 1999 F350 7.3 diesel. I removed a Bully dog tuner. T reied to put my super chip brand in and no go. So I then took the truck to have the PC flashed. And the Ford garage could not do anything sine the code that came up said
FEPS Open Circuit.
Does anyone know what is going on with the truck. PLEASE HELP.
thank you in advance
Moved thread to the 1999 - 2003 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel sub-forum.
Bumping it to the top, so that the FTE members with a lot of experience with the 7.3L PSD engine in the 99-03 genre can have an opportunity to see this as yet unanswered question, and offer some help.
You could check your OBDII port pin 13, the FEPS programming pin, and see if it's damaged, and check that wire to the PCM connector to see if there is a break/open.
Yeah I'd think first step is checking condition of that pin 13. Also pull the PCM and check the condition of the contacts where the chip fits, and the connector. The other end of pin 13 mates up there.
If all looks good I'd stick the Bullydog back on there. If it runs well you're golden.
