You won't find one specifically for our trucks. that being said, my 48 F-1 rear frame width is standardized at 34 in. outside. There are hitches manufactured to fit a 34 inch wide frame. My memory tells me that pickup frames were standardized at 34 inches up to about 1972. You will want to use a manufactured hitch rather than make it yourself. Most state laws require a hitch that will meet the towing requirements and you can't prove that with a homemade hitch. Curt Manufacturing is a good hitch manufacturer and has a good selection from which to choose.
I just installed a receiver hitch on my 49. I'm not sure what it came from, a friend donated it to me. I think it was from a mid 70's chevy truck but I can't say for sure. It is for a 34" frame width and is the type that the side frame brackets can be bolted on to either side so you can change the brackets to have the flange face inwards or outwards for different frame widths.
Naturally, neither configuration worked with my set-up. I had to add 1/2" plates between the center section and the side brackets to work with my situation.
Hijacking here but since the question is out there….
Can I just mount a ball to this set up. There is a spot at 2 different heights. On the bottom tier I assume the 2 outside holes are for chains. Good old farm ingenuity. The bumper is a beast.
Chances are it will, or has, held up anything the truck can reasonably haul. Farmers may not have been formally trained engineers, but they knew how to make things work.
I sold my 2020 Tremor and am offering my rear rock tamers for sale. These are what they look like. PM me if your interested in purchasing.
Thanks for looking.
