So I’m putting a factory efi set up on my 1986 bronco with a 302 I’ve found a vacuum diagram for all the crap with these things. I’m not worried about passing smog because this is a trail rig. My question to you guys is what do I need to make sure this runs clean (not lean and not rich) I guess what I’m asking is what can I delete to make this set up a little more clean and less messy
Most things related to the air injection system can be deleted, that is most of the plumbing clutter on and around these motors. The vacuum lines and any check valves feeding the HVAC, MAP and FPR need to remain and the TAB and TAD solenoids should remain electrically connected, but all vacuum lines in this system cab go away. The EGR should really remain as it helps improve detonation sensitivity and it can't be totally eliminated without setting codes that will trigger a check engine light in many cases, but you can try your luck with removing it.. it may not trigger a CE light for you. This system makes no noticable difference to performance and it's pretty tidy consisting of just 1 valve, tube and vacuum line, and don't waste your time with those EGR elimiators devices yu see on the web, they won't prevent a CE light.

the case of the egr? the tube that’s on the back of the block if I just use some block off plates on those would that be okay? Or do I need to add the pipe to my exhaust, and what does the Hvac vacuum do? I don’t have ac and my heater works? Correct me if I’m wrong but all I need to connect for vacuum is the MAP and FPR? Thanks in advance
