Hello,
I have a 2002 F 250 CC XLT 4WD and was exploring the addition of a winch. So I would need a "winch ready" front bumper. To those who have bought and installed, which are good ones and which would you stay clear of? The costs I see are $700 and "through the roof". What are you willing to recommend?.
PJ
I had an ARB winch-capable bumper on my 2003 and I was very pleased with both the build quality and the appearance on the truck. It was fairly heavy at around 150 pounds, but I liked the look and I did end up adding a 12k Warn winch to mine.
Super Duty DJ: You "had" the bumper? Is the truck gone now? What's the usual projection from the truck with these aftermarket winch ready bumpers? Was it north of 1K for the bumper? What Winch did you buy?

PJ, I replaced the 2003 with a 2015 several years ago, so I no longer have the truck. The bumper and winch went with the truck to the new owner.
If I remember correctly, the distance from the front of the grill to the front of the bumper was on the order of 10-12", but it's been a while. I remember paying somewhere in the neighborhood of $1200 for the bumper, which did not include the winch. I bought a used Warn M12 winch (12,000 lb) to put in the bumper. The only real drawback to the ARB bumper is that Warn winches are the only ones that will fit because the bumper was designed around the Warn winch and other brands don't have the right offsets between the gearbox and the mounting feet to clear the reinforcing gussets in the bumper. Here is another picture from the side of the truck to give you an idea of how far the bumper projects from the grill.
I have the same color but mine is a 2002 4 dr. CC XLT. I'll have to upload a pix of it. 215K miles and still going strong. Yeah I looked up a few dealers "Bumper Superstore" in CO is one. Current pricing is $1800
Free shipping. Thanks for the tip on the Warn Winch set up...

You're welcome. When I bought mine, I purchased it from 4Wheel Parts when they had one of their 10-15% off sales. I can't remember if it was 10-15% off one item or the whole purchase, but that made it a bit less painful price-wise.
