Don't know if this subject has been approached, but what would be the steps to replace doors that have manual operated windows and locks with doors that have power windows and locks? I'm looking to see if anyone has attempted to do this and what was done to do this ... my 1990 F-250 Custom cab is in decent shape but I'd like to make it a little nicer and someone is parting out an F-150 XL in Fairbanks and he has both doors that would fit my truck. $100 bucks each. I just want to know if that would be a good deal or not ... is it worth the trouble (electrically speaking)?
On my F-250, I have no keys to lock the doors ... sigh!
Getting keys for the existing door locks should be cheaper than replacing doors. A locksmith should be able to re-key those locks. Manual windows are probably more reliable, too. I would think the connections to the wire harness would be there for the unused accessories, but you'll probably need a wiring schematic to find the right places to connect to.
I have two different doors now on my F-250. I wanted to get matching doors and the doors that the guy has to offer are nicer than mine but they are power ... I know I'd prefer manual as they are more reliable but is there a way for me to convert the new (power) doors to manual windows and locks?

Going from memory, I did this years ago on a 94. Get the doors, and there is a harness that goes from each door, I believe tucked up under the dash, above the instruments. Way up there! Might also check if he has the key to the door lock.
Don't know if this will work on your year. But, was pretty easy on mine. Just make sure you get everything attached to the wiring harness.
From what I have read on here you would need the wire harness that is behind the dashboard. You didn’t say what year F-150. The locks are different for depending on the body style. As for the not having a door key you can remove the lock cylinder and take it to a locksmith to get a key made or buy a new set of locks.

You could swap the manual widow regulators from your doors with the power regulators in the "new" doors to have manual windows. Take the guts out of your existing doors and install in the new doors.
That was the advice from my good mechanic friend, Big John. Everyone knows Big John around here in Tok. I'm thinking everyone knows a "Big John" somewhere, right? He's a very big guy ...
i just did it to my 93 cab in the f150 and another 97 f250 cab. I bought one harness on feebay and removed one from a junkyard truck.
The harness can be removed from a truck without removing the dash but it is very hard to reach and get behing the parking brake dash bracket. but it was completly plug and play for me from there. my 93 cab i swaped the whole door. The 97 f250 i swapped the regulators. I also bought those sweet barckets that some diesel website sells ( i forget who). re-enforces the inside door handle. man what i difference. i bought them for all my old fords.i also replaced the regulator rivets with 1/4x20 stainless hardware and nylon lock nuts. I bout regular 1/4" nuts to replace the regulators internal bushings as well. I just do it as standard practice anymore.
side not, if memory servers right, you also can power mirrors with that harness. i don't remember adding any extra wires, but both of those rigs now have power mirrors as well.
