E4od planetary upgrade
Hey guys
I need to upgrade my forward planetary gear in my 94 e4od. The stock one was the 3 pinion aluminum piece of junk. The 6 or 4 pinion steel unit will be a good upgrade. Can I swap the 4 or 6 pinion unit straight into the existing ring gear and hub or do one of those have to be changed in order to work. Also can anyone recommend a kit or website to get it from without breaking the bank.

Swap 3 planetary to 4 or 6 straight up, yes.
When I rebuilt mine, bought a couple of junk tranny's from 460's and diesels, they will have 4 planetary (if your lucky 6).
