I just picked up my new F350 xlt yesterday. Drove it home and parked it. I went to go back out a few hours later. When i turned the key to start the truck, it just cranked and wouldnt start. I turned the key back to the off position and then re attempted to start it. After a long crank, it fired up. Now the check engine light was on, the wrench light. It then was running a little rough, but kind of cleared up. I started driving down my driveway and when I turned onto the main road and accelerated, the truck shifted hard and went into limp mode. I pulled over and restarted it. I was able to continue driving, but i could tell it was shifting rough. After some more driving around, everything was fine.
I went out for a drive this morning and had no issue. I went to go out later in the day and had the same exact thing happen as yesterday. Ive only got 120 miles on it so far. My brother in law has a f550 with the 7.3 and said he experienced the same thing when his truck was new. He said the problem went away afterwards. I will call the dealer tomorrow and notify them.
I will be calling the dealer today to let them know. Im no panicking yet about the issue as it might not be anything crazy.
I tried searching to see if anyone else had the same issue on this forum, but i couldnt really find anything. Im going to try other forums as well.
These new trucks are definitely nice and a major upgrade from my 2012 F250. I drive a 2019 chevy 2500 ext. cab gasser, for a work truck and my new f350 blows it out of the water. I have no brand loyalty and use to be a GM guy, but i dont care for there current and past offerings/designs.
I hope its something simple for you! If not don't take it personal things happen and I enjoy my truck, we traded our 2011 F250 and it was a great truck.
Mine would spin/turnover but not start, had it towed to the dealer and they scanned and found the CAM sensor was bad, they ordered the parts and had it back to me in a week.

Thats what mine is doing, but it does eventually start.
UPDATE: I dropped the truck off at the dealer yesterday. They looked at it this morning and said it was the cam sensor. The service guy said there is actually a bulletin on this issue. They are overnighting the part and I should have my truck back late tomorrow or weds.

you sound like me, ugly a** 2020 chevy CC 2500 work truck here with service bed/box. I am watching this new 7.3L like a hawk since diesels have gone awry. I would do everything you can to get early problems on paper, the 3rd service on same issue within I think 4 or 5 years will get the truck bought back to try again, nothing personal as said above.

After reading this and having had a 7.3 PSD for 14 years I found this funny/ironic that the new 7.3 has had cam sensor issues 😁. Was this a design feature to make us feel nostalgic? LOL
