Had the rear axle replaced on my 2007 4.6. Got it back and I can hear a rattle. Guy double checked it and said it was nothing he did. It only happens over bumps/vibration on the road. If I stop all around on the bed it doesn’t do but I stomp in the center of the bumper it does. And you can hear it around the gas tank area but it vibrates the whole bed. Had a load in it the other day it was non existent...couldn’t hear it at all....any idea what it could be it’s really bothering me and I don’t know if it’s anything major. Any ideas?
Ok so I found there was a lug nut somehow that got in between my tool box and my window. So the tapping was the lug nut. However there’s still a lot of vibration when I hit the bumper. I know the bed is supposed to have some give to it seems a little excessive. Ideas?
I know truck beds are supposed to have some give but this is more than normal. Video doesn’t show how much it’s vibrating but it vibrates a lot after I bounce hard on the bumper and I’m a small guy. Ideas?
You're going to have to go underneath with a long pry bar or screwdriver and look for loose exhaust hanger/insulators, heat shields, box to frame mount bolts, park brake cables, spare tire carrier, brackets, dropped wiring harness, fuel lines, brake lines, loose shock bushings, transmission mount, etc. Use a rubber hammer also to check parts for vibration. Is there something loose in the tailgate when you closed it in the video? I don't know if your model year had the torsion bar in the tailgate.

I know my parking break doesn’t work and it’s because the springs in the rear are not attached so I know I need to fix that but it’s been like that since I bought it and it has never shaken like that before. All those things you’ve mentioned. If just one of them is off will it really make the bed shake that much? I wasn’t closing the tailgate just hopping on the bumper and getting off. I can’t hear or feel anything loose in the tailgate though.
The piece of metal you have in your hand could be part of a spring shackle. I would definitely check them all out just to make sure you are all safe to be on the road.
The video looks like it moves a fair bit. Not that ive videoed mine to check. Maybe check you bed supports are still sound and strong.

Nah, it's got a tiny (maybe M6 or M10) nut in the center. Nothing on the leafs that small. It appears to be some sort of keeper or retainer but I can't place it
Been driving it around a bit. And I’m not really feeling anything. From what I’ve read it’s pretty common for these beds in these models to shake like this.
