It stayed this way for a while without major changes. And you may not think this is a major change but if you were in the truck you would understand. I changed sway bar bushings on both axles and to the frame. You can kind of tell from the picture it is completely rotted out. This is just one of the 8 on the links and 4 on the axles. All were very similar
my goodness the ride difference was amazing to say the least! So much smoother. If you have not done them yet, please do. You will thank yourself
soon after that I resealed my oil cooler which was also a great improvement. Much less oil everywhere. Refilled coolant with Napa SCA precharged coolant. And I think the truck likes it much better
Did a little interior work, including blue LED dash lights recommended by Kahn and a double din radio kit.
the dash lights were rough. Not the lights themselves but since I went with blue because I wanted a little change I cleaned all the green junk on the back of the dash clusters. It took about 2 hours lots of q-tips and acetone. I had to adjust the gauges a couple times after that but I couldn’t be happier with the result.
the radio was pretty simple. Quick wiring and dash cut and it’s in. Still have to wire up the reverse camera which won’t take long just got to find a day
And my first time hauling a gooseneck, of course it’s a Chevy. I had put the stacks back in because I just missed the look and the deep throaty sound but I messed up the downpipe so it was against the fire wall making the cab VERY noisy so the exhaust kit was coming soon
Here is present day. I put in a diamond eye 5” exhaust kit. nice and quiet in the cab and a little more bed space
Here’s the engine bay today. Pretty dirty sadly lol there’s a few things I gotta clean up a little bit but I’m very happy with how this truck has moved forward
Now to the future! Once I get my tax return money I am ordering mark Fs efuel kit.
also on the list is:
adreneline hpop
banks intercooler
arp head studs
910 springs
pushrods
a rear locker ( ive Heard- the new 6.7 powerstrokes electric locker fits in if so I’ll probably do that)
next turbo and injector setup I want to try kc turbos Kc300x stage 3 turbo with 250/100 injectors
bellowed up pipes
if I’m missing anything let me know. I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments so far! I’ve definitely learned a lot from this website so far and I’m ready for more!
as a consideration, you might want to look at the CNCfab HPOP.
surpisingly good. Nothing really over 1000. Hills or accelerating
depending on the time when I need it and my budget at the time I’ll either get an adrenaline or cnc fabs stage 1 pump. I’d rather the adrenaline for more output but if I can’t afford it when I need it I’ll plan on cnc fabs
Well had a fun day today. Drove to town for some groceries. When I got home I noticed oil all over my exhaust pipe. Looked around it’s on my tires, tailgate, bumper and all over my leafs and rear axle. After further inspection looks like I have a good ol dipstick flange leak and BAD. If I start it it pours out. I’m thinking it must’ve cracked or blown an o ring or something. So I bit the bullet and got the upgraded billet dipstick flange that strictly diesel made ordered. Monday I’ll be ordering efuel from mark as well so got some fun projects up and coming!
Dude! I've been waiting forever for you to do a build!
Awesome work so far! I am thinking hard about a KC turbo, but retrofitting the E99 stuff to make turbo removal easier.
If you're worried about oil I would go the CNCFAB STG2 before the adrenaline. It puts out the same oil from all the research I did, has the steel inserts for the HPOP lines and is a little cheaper. I am partial to CNC though as I have their stage 1 pump and absolutely LOVE it. I've told Corey before that I love his pump and would do it again, no questions.
Mark's E fuel is awesome. I have the Dieselsite kit and I will continue to recommend Mark's kit based off quality and price point. I think you're heading in the right direction for sure. I'll be in Colorado next month so I'll definitely want to meet up some time and see this "White Trash" build.
