I have a 2002 f250 7.3 with 150k.it has a ts perf.6 pos. tune. It started out falling on it's nose shortly after start up. Now it starts runs for about a minute, then dies. Could this be a fuel filter problem? This is my first diesel so I'm new at this.
I should add that after it dies, it won't even try to fire when I turn it over. And when it first started doing this, if I could keep it running thru the sluggish running shortly after taking off, it seemed to pull out if it and run fine.
What kind of shape is your fuel tank in? Does your fuel level effect the symptoms? Have you had a chance to check your fuel pressure, maybe a lift pump might help.
When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? Also, turn the key on and listen to see if you hear the fuel pump humm for a few seconds which is located on the inside of the frame rail just under the drivers seat. If you don't hear it, touch it to see if you feel a vibration that it's working. If it's making a gurgling noise, it's probably on its way out. It could also be the filter socks in the tank being dirty.
