POS Steals Automatic Locking Hub
Hello All, I belong to other forums (firearms) - this is my first foray into the world of Ford pickup forums. This looks like a good one.
My sad, sad story: I was washing my muddy 91 F150 Sunday morning when I noticed that the 4X4 cover was missing from the drivers side front wheel; also missing was all of the innards. The grease inside was clean and dark. I think that some POS decided that he needed my stuff more then I did and took it... so here I am with a truck with one automatic locking hub with innards missing.
This truck has been in the family for 5 years now, it was first my son's but he got in the family way and needed to go more economy for a primary vehicle so I bought it from him. it has less than 75K miles on it and needs some of the emissions stuff replaced but other then that it fires right up and runs good.
Anyways, here is why I am typing on the forum- I'm looking for automatic hubs for sale. I hear that a lot of folks replace their automatic hubs for manual hubs for reliability - I'm a fair weather off roader so I don't need to go to that extreme but I do want to replace what I need to economically.
Anybody out there have automatic hubs for sale/trade?
