Greetings to all.
2020 Lariat Super Duty. I've been using Mobil1 Extended Performance Full Synthetic 5W-20 oil. Now, I'm about to use 5W-20 Motorcraft synthetic blend motor oil which they claim meets Ford WSS-M2C960-A1. Question is, does mixing brands affects oil performance?
Also, my "Trailer Tow Mirrors" have a squeaky sound when are deployed. Should I go to dealer for that or, which I will definitive prefer, is there a way to lubricate it? I'll rather learn how to keep those mirrors well lubricated since they open and close very often.
Thank you in advance for your comments and advice.
Louis
If you're asking if you can use two oils at the same time yes, but I don't see it as the best idea. if you're asking will the oil left after draining it is a problem absolutely not.
Thank you for your comment.
You sent me to double check the manual. I have a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.2L gasser. The book says oil capacity 7 Qt. and to use Engine Oil SAE 5W-30 Synthetic blend Motor oil. with a specification WSS-M2C946-B1. I think the oil I currently have (Mobil 1) meets those specs. I'm concerned changing brands. Any comment about that?
Thank you for your answer.
Yes, that's what I'm asking for today. Currently, I have Mobil 1 and I will fully replaced it with Motorcraft synthetic blend. Somewhere I read they do not recommend changing brands and "mixing" the oil change residue with new fresh oil.
Even AMSOil says you can mix brands. They point out that a full oil change with their oil gives you the best benefit. You'll never get every drop of old oil out of an engine unless you take the engine apart.
Thank you for your comment.

If you currently have 5w20 in the truck it doesn't meet the specs. Brand is not really relevant, it's the specs that are.
