I Recently purchased my truck. I’m having problems. The alarm wouldn’t stop going off whenever I put my key in the ignition. I took the aftermarket alarm and factory alarm out of the vehicle. Now my whole odometer doesn’t work, the relays behind the radio are clicking and also I can drive the truck but about every mile I get 0 throttle response. I need help!!
Does your truck have a smart key with a passive disabling device? Your truck might be going into limp mode if it's diesel, the key would look normal with a plastic coated head on it, you may need to put everything back on and have a dealer program a key for you. I think you need 2 good keys to program a third, it should all be in your owners manual. If you don't have one, try to find one in pdf form on the internet, they should be free.
PATS was not installed in the old Super Duty trucks (before 2008). Besides, it wouldn't cause any of the described faults.
OP: COMPLETELY identify your vehicle, we are not psychic...
Ah gotcha, I had a 1997 F250 that had a theft light that came on when starting the truck, any idea what that was called? My buddy said on his 98 350 he could crank the truck for ever and it wouldn't start when that theft light was blinking, he said it happened when his batteries got weak and the theft system had to be reset.

the truck is a 1999 f350 with the 7.3 I have heard a few things the wiring is a mess under the dash where they put the aftermarket system my guess is there is a short somewhere I’m going to do more looking today

Those are not Super Duty models. They're probably "left-over" old body style trucks that pre-dated the 1999 introduction of the Super Duty line. Different animals than what the OP has.

Unlikely to be a "short" but the likelihood is high that something is cluster-farked if there was an aftermarket alarm installed and then ripped out haphazardly. Someone will need to sort it out.
