alarm problem
hey parents have a 2010 f350 6.4l and they are having issues with the trucks alarm going off when the lock it, they also have problems with the alarm going off when the truck is started with the command start. it shuts down after 10 15 mins and a few mins later the alarm goes off. anyone have this problem?

Well the short story is take it in. The long story sounds like they haven't hooked up something properly. Although I have never seen a factory(not dealer installed but actually factory installed) alarm in these trucks, the more loaded they are, the higher the likely hood it has one. Sounds like the have 2 seperate units installed rather then one single alarm/starter combo. Typically when you have 2 units you have to isolate the ignition wires from the alarm on start up and may also have to do the same to the shock sensor other wise the truck can vibrate enough to set the system off. Could be wrong but if it worked before then the only other thing I could think of would be a broken wire. I spend my days fixing poorly installed factory alarms. Not trying to pick on ford's techs but some of them don't belong on the electrical side of things. This is also very true about A LOT of the worlds car installers but that's another rant altogether 
Could be a whole bunch of things that are causing the problem but the short of it is that you should have warranty so it's better not to mess with it. Especially if you are unsure about what you're doing.
