78 F150's

Found a couple of pics of 78 F150's I had back about 40 years ago, thought I'd share them with you. Both had 351M, standard transmissions & transfer cases, simple hard working trucks......... wish I still had them.

The one with the plow brace is a F-250 and might be a "snow fighter" if it's a 78-79 which came with a D60 king pin front axle and anti sway bars front and rear. That my friend is a great truck by far in the top 2 73-79 trucks, only one better was the F350 4wd 78-79 IMHO. I have a 1978 F250 snow fighter with the original meyers plow that has been faithfully plowing my 700 ft. of driveway for the last 10 years.
The 8 stud wheel makes it an F250 or possible F350

I believe the second pic is also a F250 or F350. Look under the axel passenger side. Looks like the axel u-bolts sticking down. Drivers side wheel looks like four lug nuts. To close together to be 5 lug.

Brain fart! You're right redroad... F250's for sure. I don't recall them having sway bars and I believe they had ball joint front axles (dana 44 ?) Had so many Ford trucks over the years, mostly F150's but these 2 where real work horses!

A question for you guy's, I'm thinking the green one could be a 79 but has round head lights, didn't they have rectangular in model year 79?

Generally that's true but if I remember right the "custom" trim package came with round headlights in both years.

Both my 78 and 79 have square headlights. I think the customs in 78 had round and 79 all had square. Not sure though.
