1968 F100 standard passenger mirror?

FTE'ers,

As the pictures show below, my passenger mirror has had better days and is in need of replacement.

*** Warning: Newbie question... Is this the standard mirror that came with a 1968 F100 Custom Cab? From what I gather from the original literature, there was no passenger mirror. True?
If not, does anyone know where I can find the standard OEM Ford version? Or at least a replacement for this?

Thanks y'all,
Nozz

No mirrors came installed on our trucks. They were all installed at the dealer. The "standard" mirror is a car mirror from same year. They threw a box of these in truck from factory. Then dealer either installed them or the optional mirrors.

Your mirrors are nothing that came on our trucks. Replace with whatever you find that turns your crank.

Here is my truck on day 1, with the dealer installed car mirrors.

Here is my "Western Jr." mirrors, refurbished from a junkyard.

No, that is not a standard mirror. Looks to be a Chimmy pattern aftermarket mirror. Ford only shipped a small left side car mirror in the glove box for dealers to install. Larger mirrors were a dealer installed item. You can get larger Western mirrors to be installed, but they don't fold so you can crush the door in a parking lot or pulling into the garage. A practical alternative is to use 77-79 Dent pattern swing arm mirrors because they can fold and provide a wider view. We put them on my dad's 72.

Those are cool mirrors. Great idea to look through a junkyard and refurbish some. Didn't think of that one.

Take the door panel off and reach in and use a nut on the screw.
