Looking to replace the bent and rusted 15" stock wheels on my 66 F100. Honestly, I don't think they're even all the same. My truck has disc in the front from a conversion kit, a 79 rear end which is 3" wider, and DJM drop suspension front and rear (~3.5")
I'm checking out the us wheels 51 and 66 series. Anyone have experience with either of these? Can I run a 15x8 with 4" backspacing, or should I use a 15x7? What was the stock size? I saw a truck using a 20" version of these and it looked really great but $$$$
A larger diameter wheel might be cheaper in the long run. A few years ago , 17" and 18" rims is where you would find the best value for tires. It might still be the same. Basically, whatever new vehicles use will have the cheapest tires. This won't matter too much if it is for show or nice weather and weekends but if it's a daily driver, then it might be a good way to go.
