So, this is my new project. It’s a 66’ short bed 2wd w/ 240 6 cyl, 3 spd. From what I have seen, there’s a lot of the original truck here. I plan to upgrade it a little at a time. Hope to put a nice interior in it, but leave the charm on the outside. Truck will be lowered, hopefully a V8 swap with auto tranny. I have installed the mirrors, I beam inserts, replaced the grommet around the filler neck, replaced the wiper arms, & have a ton of parts & pieces waiting to be inst
alled
That’s my cheater speedo until I get my cable replaced
Gotcha. The nice thing about these trucks is they are easy to work on. I have been working on mine for going on 2 years now doing little things like you are, after the 7 years my dad put into it. They are a blast to drive and you will always get thumbs up and compliments. Welcome to the club.

For sure!! Right now, she’s my daily. It’s funny how many people wave, give thumbs up, or ask if you want to sell it. My son has a 29’ Model A, so I had to have something to tinker on too
Nice truck, I have a sweet spot for the 66 2wd short box. That was my first vehicle. Mine had the 352 V-8. Rebuilt it with 428 heads, Performer manifold, Carter AFB, C-6, and a locked rear end. I could never get a handle for the window to stay on. I replaced all the parts inside the door and the handle problem still remained.
Enjoy
