Ok..'84 f250, 6.9idi, t-19, two batteries. I just bought a new battery for another car, turns out some wiring is fried, so poor thing will be headed for the trade in at a dealer...question: Am I looking for trouble if I take that brand new 750CCA battery out and install it in the truck along with the battery that is already in there...a 3 year old 850 CCAs...haven't measured the tray yet.... Both batteries in truck are working just fine....just don't want to see that new one go to waste...
this is the basic issue.........
"So unless they are in the same condition / same capacity / same state of charge, they won't be in an ideal charging situation because they are being treated (by the alternator/regulator) as one big battery instead of the two (or more) separate batteries that they really are."
Ok, thx much...figgered it to be that way...but had to ask...just hate throwing a brand new battery away...which is what will happen when the car is traded in...
