Tire pressure recommendations ??

Recently bought a 2015 f150 with 275/55R20 tires, and checked the tire pressure on them. One is set to 59psi, other two to 55psi, last to 52psi. First time with a truck and usually my cars run on 32psi. I don’t tow nor do heavy work loads to the truck, so are those appropriate pressures? If not, what do y’all recommend?

Run exactly what is on the sticker on the drivers door.

That's crazy high. Bleed them down to 35-40psi. I think 40 is still on the high end.

Start with what the door tag states, then check the wear pattern on each tire after 1,000 miles, adjust psi accordingly until they are wearing dead straight across.... just make sure you don't exceed the tire mfg max psi listed on the tire.

I run mine at 40. 35 is ok too. Max load? Air up a little.

Swerving suggestion.

Some of the P-metric 18 and 20" tires are good to 51 PSI, but for sure don't run any higher than what's on the sidewall. The door sticker is a good start, and that sidewall number is the upper limit.

Preowned vehicle, so what Brand and Model tire is on that truck?
I ask because there are a few D and E rated LT tires in 275/55/20, with the BFG KO2 being one of them. Still 50 lb is high for an unloaded truck, but curious on more details.

Good Call, that's why it's worth reading the max inflation pressure on the sidewall as well as the door sticker.

Yea, I thought so too. Thank you. The other reply I got was to put it to what the sticker says on the door, but I didn’t see those tire sizes on it. Looked online and there’s lots of responses saying anything between 30psi lowest and 50psi highest

It would be of great help if you told us the what tires were on your truck. As has been said, depending on the tire, you may not be that over inflated. But also, those are crazy high pressures for a non loaded truck. When I tried the LT Falken tires I had them at 37 - 42 if I remember correctly.

Fairly certain that's the range my wife's F150 lives in for tire pressures. She's still running stockers and I don't think I've ever adjusted her tire pressure either.

it says AMP A/T A Terrain Attack. Also, the tire size starts with LT. idk if that’s what you needed

Yep. That's it. They are a LT D rated tire. I just looked them up. I'd try them at 37-40psi and see how the ride and check the wear after about 1k miles.

Amp tires
