I found a 2021 F350 with all the options I am interested in at a good price...but it lacks the electronic locking rear that I need (I do some surf fishing and spend time on the beach). Can a dealer install this or am I limited to putting in an air locker and pump with an aftermarket kit?

Okay, so the dealer I am getting it from can put in the locker...or I can put in a standard air locker of my choice aftermarket. I was concerned with the diesel torque in using an aftermarket locker. A guy just drove off with my 03 Silverado and I am truckless for the first time in decades, so I may just take what I can find on a lot vs ordering what will amount to a 2022...not certain I need the "big screen" and that appears to be the only change.
Biggest issue I see is price and maybe parts availability. It's going to cost a hell of a lot more than the $390(msrp) that it costs as a factory option.
I would go ARB all day long if they have one for the Dana 275. But I know there is not a listing for it yet. With a phone call you may find out when one might be available. Then the price of a factory option at $390 for the e-locker and if available an ARB will be $1200-1400 then add a compressor and mount minimum of $500 -$1000 more and about $1200 to install just the rear set. A little more dealer shopping may save you money. My local dealer does not have a truck without a E-locker on the lot. It depends on the area and the demand for them as for what the dealers stock. I might look a little more.
Maybe a dealer search for trucks within 500 miles, that already have it, sitting on a lot somewhere.
I have searched the US using zip codes all around. Very few extended cab models, Fewer still with the Camper package/5th wheel and GVWR packages. I think I am down to one!

Dont confuse the price of the factory option with what it is going to cost him to install the elocker. I would opt for the trutrack like other said, that way it will work at speeds greater than 20mph. Plus, I am not fond of it turning into a spool anyway, much rather have limited slip.
Another option is to get the truck you want, then keep an eye on salvage yards across the country for a wrecked truck with the same axle/gear as your truck, but has the e-locker, and buy the whole axle. Pull the u-bolts and swap the whole axle in. A simple 12v wire to an upfitter switch and you have a working locker.
Keep in mind, the dealer will not likely do anything to the rear end. They'll likely price a whole new rear axle. I had a dealer price a while new drive line because I needed u-joints. They wouldn't get involved in pressing u-joints so their solution is a while new shaft with new joints already installed. The dealer mechanics aren't specialists, they're generalists (not saying that as a bad thing, some are very good). If you're asking the dealer to install the electronic locking rear end, I'd be prepared for a hefty price tag.

Same here. That's why I went with the F450. I couldn't find the limited slip on a 250/350. I later found there was some which way to order a 350 that made it available.
That being said; I'm super happy with the F450 and it's wide-track front end! I wouldn't change a thing about our truck!
