If I have a 2015 Ford F-150 xlt with 5.0L v8 that is 4 wheel drive and wanting to do a Cummins swap what is better 3.9 or a 5.9 12V, what transmission do I need, or what all do I need to get in order to fit.
You're a little early for April Fools Day. A person can buy 3/4 ton trucks all day with diesel engines.
No need to go trying to fit one in a truck not designed for it. Anyone serious about doing this wouldn't be asking these questions.
Even so, I'll still answer the main question of what you need to get. The answer to that question is...a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.

I would skip the 3.9 and 5.9 and go straight for the 8.3.

If you are going to dream you might want to look at the X15 since you are going to have to rebuild the front end to even put the 5.9 since the F150 front end is not going to support it, Ram front axle is around 4500 pounds with the Come Apart in it

A very ambitious undertaking and if you’re truly serious, totally not worth the expense and effort.

A lot of time and money.
A donor truck to get the engine, trans, transfer case, and computer/wiring from.
A custom fab shop to help you beef up the front end to support that much weight and make you custom driveshafts and probably a custom front axle, and definitely custom motor/trans mounts.
If I'm not too far off, that custom fab shop is also going to have to modify either your grille or your firewall to shoehorn that big of a motor into this truck.
A Powerstroke swap would be a better candidate, but again, you're going to have a LOT of work to make it fit.
A 5.0 Cummins is about 900 lbs though. A coke can F150 won’t hold it well. None would, really.
That being said, Cummins does make a 2.8 crate I4 diesel that is about 500 lbs and swap friendlier. No idea what that would entail as far as making it turn your F150’s wheels. OP, that’s for you to take pics and videos of and share with us.

That’ll be $8200, sir. Cash or charge?
.
Unless it is made for the truck, just imagine what a nightmare to try to get the dash working correctly.
The OP is severely misguided or just trolling. My vote is the latter.

modify the grille? It would look like that goofy tow truck on cars

Are you dissing on Mater?
In all seriousness, I don't know if it would need to be modified. I just know that Ford didn't design that engine bay for a straight 6 of any size, so it's going to be wedged under that hood if it'll even fit.
