I want to do the opposite. I have an F-150 with a 3.0L Diesel engine want to swap out and put a Coyote 5.0L in it. 😂
Thats crazy, we have the 3.0 powerstroke and love it! My wife mainly drives it, but its a slick truck. Doesnt have the power that my 6.7 has, but my wife doesnt care about that, and we have a couple of cars that have some decent power if we wanna go speedy.
I understand there is a certain demographic of people who have a romance with the idea that Cummins is the best diesel engine in existence, and hence why forums get flooded with questions of how to swap a Cummins into this or that.
Deboss Garage on youtube put in a 3126E Caterpillar engine into an F350. Watch his videos if you really want to be persuaded that this is a bad idea. Engine to frame, engine to transmission (he used an Allison school bus tranny), air suspension, new electronic dash. I think the complexity really surprised him even after all his pre-planning.

I watched that video and commented on it too. That man has my respect, for that particular project. First off, for NOT installing a Cummins engine into the engine bay. There seem to be enough Cummins swapped rides out there that it's getting old. Second, the amount of attention to detail and expense incurred into that project really shows. I have no doubt the final product is going to be one very nice ride.

No, mine has issues. 4 times in less than 12 months every since i received it the truck new from ford and i keep up with all the maintenance and then some. Deep particulate filter failure check engine light. I'm in hot humid miami, florida. I wonder if it works better this truck in colder climate. Plus the DPF is on National backorder. So that tells me other people must be having similar issue. the truck is a 2021 with only 24k miles. I had a 2019 Mustang with 5.0 that engine was solid, never gave me issues other than 1 time catalytic clogged, but i straight piped it and issue went away. I have a lead foot i guess, i do long 300 miles one way and back once a week, the truck has 24k miles in less than 16 months, i bought it on Aug 2021.
That's what they all say! The truck is almost paid and it has permanent check engine light due to DPF failure and ford just can't get the parts. I wont get not even 50% of what a new f150 with 5.0L cost which is $50K. So for $25k i bet i can do a swap and then some! if the difference was only $5k i would agree with you. But this nit the case. So i'm researching away. Florida we got some crazy shops that would swap about anything.
Is there a DPF delete kit on the market yet for the 3.0l PSD? That might be an option to get around the trouble lights and endlessly back order parts.
Yes, there are several options but in the US it would be hard to do as vendors are hesitant to sell to us. The dpf on the 3 liter powerstroke is actually easy to remove and replace if you can find a new one out there, or at least one from a parts yard.

I have not found one yet down here in Florida. I think some folks in Canada may have done a DPF delete, but yeah i thought about it too. That's my next course of action too short of swapping out the engine. But be on the lookout for a meme soon of a Ford babystroke on a trash dumpster soon if i don't figure it out. 😁
