Yesterday I connected to my 2017 F350 Platinum (push button start) and backed up all my modules. At the end of that process I decided to disable the Double Honk and enable Secure Idle (Police mode). I changed the settings for both and then clicked the “Write All” button. the accessory mode shut down before the write was completed. The setting changes did not hold in the software. I restarted accessory mode and changed the settings a second time. This time I tried to write the line for disabling Double Honk with the same result. I am guessing that there is a step in this process that I did not complete, but have been unable to find anything specific in the tutorials. FORScan is version 2.8.38 beta. The good thing is I did not ”brick” anything that I can find.
I forgot to mention in my original post that I am using an OBDLink EX scan tool. I am not certain if that makes a difference or not. The backups of the modules went without a hiccup.
Good news! I attempted the changes a second time today and was successful. The only thing that I can say I did differently was to make certain the OBDLink was firmly seated in the socket. Thanks to 4wd6.7L and ZooDad for the help and encouragement.
More changes to come over the coming weekend!
