Been working on getting the new to me Excursion ready for this years camping season. Got it last fall to tow our 30ft bunkhouse.
So far I fixed an exhaust manifold gasket, installed a new P3 brake controller, new front bumpstops and a tune from 5 star. Next week I am dropping it off to have my 5Star y-pipe welded in. This weeks project is installing a set of air bags. I purchased the set shown below. Any pointers or gotcha's to look out for? Thanks
Ya, purchase the on board air compressor and the rest of the remote control kit so you can have control from the cab and/or when hooking up have the remote in hand to aid in hook up and to visualize when level. I know it's the expensive part of the kit but you will be glad you did it.

Thanks. Th onboard air compressor would be nice. It is on my list, just gonna have to wait a little bit.
Get a set of limiting straps, off highway or on a two post lift you can rip them out
I just installed a set of sport bags on mine that allow for quite a bit of droop as they unfold and allow extension but I still have room to overextend them. I ordered a set of 27 inch straps that will run from a hole in the frame to the bottom shock bolt

Interesting. I wasn’t sure what these were. Had to look it up. Right now I don’t think it will be an issue, but if I plan on off road it more in the future they could be a good idea.
I agree with the onboard compressor. I installed my air bags and ran the airlines to fill by the rear passenger doors mounted in the running board flange. It works, but it is a pain.

Thanks. It does sound like onboard air is a great option. Probably gonna have to wait til next year though. I have other things more urgent on the list.
Yeah, I am going to add it to mine in the future. Also, when you install the bags, don't forget the support plates. I know a guy that did that, they still need to be put on.
